Rejection

Jordan Gardner

Staring up at the sky,

there it faded

A dull, diminishing rainbow

no longer able to cling to the one who had rejected it

She could not help but align herself with its melancholy existence

as the once bold colors blurred,

transforming brilliance into no more than a vague grime

The look of prideful disdain he had disposed upon her,

through raised brows and indifferent decorum,

It would not be forgotten
