Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Jackson Lippincott, freshman, shows a big smile during the cooking of Thanksgiving dinner. “I had so much fun doing this,” Lippincott said. The Wild Dream Team spent a day right before break preparing a Thanksgiving meal. The meal was prepared for kids who would not be able to have a Thanksgiving dinner provided for them.

Thanksgiving is a holiday where many individuals in the United States, it also happens to be a holiday where we eat a lot of food. This year, the Wild Dream Team program at State High continued a tradition to prepare 12 meals for families in need.
The students did not know the kids they were making the meals for; all they had were phones numbers given to them by the counselors at Delta and State High. The students from the Best Buddies program made many different foods including turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans and many more traditional thanksgiving foods.
“My favorite thanksgiving food is nachos,” freshman Jackson Lippincott said, “We have nachos every thanksgiving”. Zachary Brezoveck said his favorite was steamed corn. Both of the students said that their favorite part of thanksgiving is the turkey. “I had a lot of fun preparing and pulling the skin off of the turkey” Brezoveck said. The process took them some time but they were able to create a wonderful thanksgiving day meal for a great cause.
Families also travel often over Thanksgiving break. “For Thanksgiving I am going to New York,” Lippincott said. “We are going to see my family and then we will eat a lot of food.”
It is inspiring to see these students come together and prepare a meal for those in our community who are less fortunate. Special support came from Hoss’s Steak and Sea House and Portfolio, A Salon made financial and product donations to help pay for the costs of the meal.
