Sophomore Mabel Tong writes her resolutions for the year of 2019, choosing to make a more generalized goal in hopes to be able to easily accomplish it. “I think that since my goal this year is pretty simple and I dont have to put much effort into it, it’ll be pretty easy,” Tong said. “I think resolutions in general are worthwhile to make as long as they’re simple and within your range of being able to do it.”

Perusing through the many vendor stands, Senior Anita Ashdari simultaneously helps and enjoys the market as a volunteer. “It was fun and really nice to meet all the people there and I would recommend it to a friend if they are interested in events like this. I loved how a lot of people showed up even though it was freezing, but the cold weather didnt seem to be a problem for them,” Ashdari said.

Laptop in hand, junior Krista Chen diligently works on an upcoming project for one of her classes. “I guess I enjoyed the first marking period. After all, it was the easiest marking period of the whole year,” Chen said. Like many other students, Chen faced pressure from the first marking period, but takes a more optimistic perspective and is looking forward to the end of the year.

The State High Amphitheater welcomes students to its steps. Recently opened a couple weeks ago, feedback has been generally positive. While the weather isnt the best right now, Im certainly looking forward to using the amphitheater in the future, freshman Allison Mi said.
