My name is Ethan Sims, a freshman from Park Forest. I chose to take Journalism because I thought it would be interesting, fun and a way to improve my writing skills. I am interested in filmmaking and thought that this class would help me improve my skills. My dad had also taken a journalism class in high school and college. He told me that they were two of the best classes he has taken. I am on the high school golf and track teams. I began playing golf when I was just four years old. I have run track in fifth, seventh, eighth and ninth grade. I also play piano and have been playing since I was six years old. I quit playing in fifth grade and started again last year. Since middle school, I’ve been interested in the school morning news, I haven’t taken the initiative to join. When I saw the videos that they show, I said to myself, I want to do that. I am very excited to be in journalism and hope it is as enjoyable as it seems.
