Humans of State High
“One of my biggest regrets is that little me was always too fixated on the future and not enough on the present. I spent so much of my childhood thinking about growing up instead of focusing on being a kid. With all the stress and work high school brings, I do miss the more carefree times—when my most pressing concern was what the cafeteria offered for lunch that day. I think that when I was younger, I just was eager to gain the independence that my parents seemed to have so much of. Perhaps I wanted freedom of choice and even responsibilities. Regardless, it is what it is, and I’ll enjoy being 16 for now.”
