“Being a teacher at State High means having the ability to show up every day and work with some really incredible students, and help them grow as individuals and learners. And working to really master our content, but also really working to master the skills necessary to be thriving, kind humans in our world.” Dietz said.

One of the many signs displayed outside State High during teacher appreciation week. “For teacher appreciation week, we want to make sure we recognise all the hard work that our teachers do with students. Even if it’s small, we want to do something every day that tries to show that we really appreciate everything they're doing for kids and for our school community as well.” State High assistant principal Brett Wilson said.

Rock Band Rocks Out
Caytlin Kramer, State High junior, works on her approach on the board, jumping to hit the yellow towel hanging above her. An important part of a successful dive is having a strong approach, to reach a good height for the skill you’re executing. Caytlin Kramer is a first year diver, coming in after various years in gymnastics, and has quickly picked up various skills, including somersaults, inward and reverse dives.
A Look Inside the State High Diving Team
The State High Swim Team competed against Central Dauphin on Jan. 9. The team gathered along the pool's edge to support their teammates' swimming. The team has a strong bond of teamwork, which is shown through team spirit and perseverance. “I think everybody is very supportive, and the cheering at home meets is uplifting and makes people happier,” freshman Natalie Huggins said.
Swim Team Splashes Over Central Dauphin
Seniors Lové McGriff (left) and Tori Risha (right) sit at the Peer Counseling table at the Mental Health Summit. They are both a part of this team that “...help support peers that are our age who struggle with mental health issues and other things that they may struggle with, like family issues, and they can just come and talk to us if they need to let it out and don't want to talk to an adult,” Risha said.
