The Eras Tour wasn’t just a concert, it was a cultural milestone. Over the past two years, Taylor Swift’s groundbreaking tour has captivated millions of fans worldwide, broke records, redefined live music, and created unforgettable memories. From the detailed stage designs and jaw dropping costumes to the emotional performances that spanned every era of her career, the tour celebrated Swift’s evolution as an artist while uniting fans and giving them a space where they felt they belonged.

Many State High students have felt a part of this tour and have come together to share their experiences to recap the amazing past two years of the Eras Tour.

Out of the 10 million fans that attended the Eras Tour, each one of them had a unique experience. Sophomore Alice Reavy shared moments from her experience.

“Going to the Eras Tour was very fun and it was a really special environment, everyone there was so nice and it was super entertaining. I attended the show in Detroit with my mom,” Reavy said.

There were a total of 149 shows that took place in 51 cities across five continents. Senior Ben Carey shared where and how he attended the tour.

“I attended the show in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and I went with my aunt, my sister, and my mom,” Carey said. “My uncle who’s married to my aunt works for a radio show, he has his own radio show and does a bunch of partnerships with record labels so he’s always getting free tickets. I had so much fun, I lost my voice at both of my shows.”

One of the most significant parts of the Eras Tour was the outfits and costumes that both Swift and her fans experimented with. Since the tour was about all of her eras, fans would often pick a specific era to dress up as. Carey shared what he decided to wear to the show.

“I wore shorts with red stripes. Everyone does themes and specific eras to dress up as. I was just thinking to myself that I don’t have any Taylor Swift merch at the time. So I went into my sister’s closet and I stole her ‘Red’ shirt and I decided that I was gonna be the ‘Red’ era. I wore that to both of the shows I went to,” Carey said.

Some fans had a different experience and a different amount of time to prepare. Sophomore Kezia Weaver shared her experience with her outfit.

“I didn’t have much notice because I was surprised with tickets for the show like one day ahead so I just wore a denim skirt and a cute top,” Weaver said.

Another huge aspect of the tour, that has forever changed the patterns of set lists, was Swift’s iconic surprise songs. Towards the beginning of the tour while Swift was introducing surprise songs, she initially said that surprise songs, other than songs on her album “Midnights,” could only be played once. This created a lot of suspense with fans and once they found out a certain song had been played, they viewed it as a loss.

Because of the amount of unique surprise songs played at every show, students each had a special experience. Reavy shared what surprise songs were played at her show.

“One of my surprise songs was ‘Exile’ and one of them was from her country album, it was one that I’ve never heard of and I didnt know it,” Reavy said.

“I had ‘Seven’ and ‘The Story Of Us’ which I was very happy about,” Weaver said.

Carey, who went to two different shows, got double the surprise songs. “For my first show I got ‘Come Back…Be Here’ and ‘Gold Rush.’ For the second show I got ‘Seven’ and ‘The Story Of Us.’ Also, in Philly, I got ‘Nothing New’ with Phoebe Bridgers,” Carey said.

Despite how fun things like surprise songs and outfits were, the Eras Tour was more than fun, providing fans who have followed Swift throughout her career and emotional experience. As the tour began to wind down, emotions ran high, with each show serving as a reminder of how far both Swift and her fans have come. The closing moments of the tour were especially bittersweet, marking the end of an era that brought so many people together while also celebrating the lasting legacy of Swift’s music.

Reavy shared her final thoughts about the tour ending forever and the emotions that come with that.

“I think this tour made everyone more social because people were excited to hear about it and excited to go to it. I actually think it impacted people’s social media use because a lot of people deleted it so that the whole show would be a surprise,” Reavy said. “This tour definitely made everyone step up their game with the designing of the stage and how entertaining it was. Most people go on a tour for only one album but this was like her entire life so I think it made people wanna do more.”

Carey agreed with Reavy and shared some of his other thoughts.

“This tour has made people so happy and given people something to look forward to at the end of the night. I definitely think that ticket purchasing will never be the same. I think that surprise songs have become so much more publicized from the Eras Tour. I feel like instead of doing a tour with just all your hits, I feel like celebrities are gonna start doing actual concerts with different eras. I really do love the concept of eras,” Carey said.

The Eras Tour was more than just a series of concerts, it was a celebration of music, storytelling, and community. It brought together fans from all over the world, including State High students, to share in a once in a lifetime experience. From the amazing performances to the emotional connections formed along the way, this tour left a lasting impact on everyone who attended. Though the Eras Tour has ended, its legacy will live on in the hearts of fans who experienced its magic.
