Mr. Gazda

Mr. Gazda attended Slippery Rock University before beginning his career at State High. Mr. Gazda has been a physical education teacher at State High for sixteen years. He has been married to Mrs. Gazda, his best friend, for 32 years. He and his wife have a 26 year old son and two dogs. Mr. Gazda’s favorite place to vacation is Savannah, Georgia. Mr. Gazda loves his job and enjoys the kids but looks forward to spending time with the family.

Best part about being a teacher: “Time with the students, interacting, socializing, getting to know them and seeing them put forth effort to succeed.”

Worst part about being a teacher: “Time away from the classroom, extra duties, extra assignments, and any work outside of class like meetings.”

Best memory as a teacher: “Having kids come back and say that my class had an impact and that they would go on to utilize information that I provided to them.”

Best family memory: “The birth of my son.”

Interesting fact about you: “I love the outdoors.”

What do you do in your down time: “I spend a lot of time with my wife and family. Taking a drive through the woods, hanging out with friends.”

What is your favorite unit to teach: Adventure

Favorite childhood memory: “Winning a championship game in a keystone states soccer tournament, especially because both of my brothers and best friends were on the team.”  

Favorite color: Blue

Favorite food: “A medium steak with mushrooms and onions on top.”
