“I love how I get to use music and apply it to every facet of my life. I have learned the importance of combining and celebrating all of my identities. You can have such a big impact through words, through music, through dance; art is a diverse entity in-and-of-itself. Your creation can be your activism. I use my school platform to speak out, I use my church and community to educate myself and others, I use my dance to express the excellence of ethnicity and African roots. I have learned to use all my outlets to reflect what I believe in. We must take every experience and opportunity as a chance to reach other people. Humans have so many spheres of influence and, when they’re combined, our impact on this world can be even greater.”
