This October we have Halloween on Monday the 31st; while some may have intricate, expensive, and detailed Halloween costumes not everyone is so fortunate. So I’ve scoured and searched and found some practical impromptu costumes for those who haven’t prepared. This is specifically for locals of State College due to location. I will be using “easy to find” costumes between Spirit Halloween and Party City. Spirit Halloween is located at 2141 S Atherton St, State College, PA. Party City is on Benner Pike Shops, 319 Benner Pike, State College, PA.

The first costume I’ve chosen is from Party City, and it’s a simple costume: Akatsuki Robe- Naruto Shippuden. It costs $ 40 and is made for any adult. On the website, there are discounts and coupons. Another popular costume that might garner attention this Halloween would have to be the Adult The Riddler Jacket – The Batman. After the movie premiered this year with mostly positive reviews, many are sure to know where it’s from and appreciate the choice. The character is a bonafide menace that will strike fear into the hearts of other celebrators.

For the ladies, I have chosen the Angel Costume Collection. It has a variety of different wings and colors. This can be found at Party City and other accessories to add to your costume. An oldie but a goodie and antithesis to the Angel Collection is simple devil horns from Spirit Halloween. Horns and other props are available for those on a budget. Those willing to spend more can purchase full-body costumes. These options apply as available in-store: “Adult Miss Devil Costume,” “Adult Gothic Devil Costume,” and “Devil Kit.”

Stella Morris, an 10th grade Student at State High, went shopping at Spirit Halloween for festivities; after buying a costume, this is what she had to say: “I had two costumes, I was the devil, and my other costume was just cowgirl,” she explained, “I got them from Spirit Halloween and my closet.” When asked about the hindsight of her purchase, Stella replied, “I enjoyed it very much, I can use it next year.”.

Elsa Strickland, another 11th-grade State High student, had also bought a costume for festivities– an Angel from Party City. Elsa was asked what her favorite part of Halloween was,
“I would say my favorite part of Halloween is the candy,” she had this to say about the process, “It was an easy last-minute costume I could put together; it was an Angel.” she admitted,
When asked about the quality of the purchase, “I enjoyed my purchase, and I recommend it Party City it was pretty good.”
Teenagers and adults aren’t the only ones who want to celebrate the festivities. Kids worldwide
love this holiday due to the treats they receive. So for kids in State College, I’ve chosen the “Armored Batman Zero” as well as “Drift” and even “Naruto,” which can all be found in Spirit Halloween. In recent years Fortnite has been one of the most popular games, I really like these costumes because they’re timely and people will get the reference(s). Naruto is one of the most influential anime in America, and going out in the Akatsuki robe is bound to start a conversation. For girls going to Halloween: “Toddler Devil Cutie Costume,” “Kids Little Red Wolf Dress Costume,” and “Kids Faux Fur Cat One-Piece Costume.” My personal favorite is the Devil costume, it’s a classic, and it’s nigh-unbeatable, it enhances the cuteness of a child more than any costume listed.

Party City also has incredible costumes for kids. Starting with “Kids’ Iron Man Costume – Marvel” and “Kids’ Black Panther Costume – Legacy.” With the new black panther movie coming out, and with Riri William’s new Iron Man; these costumes are sure to get you more candy. On the other hand for girls, “Kids’ Pink & Blue Spider-Girl Costume – Marvel” and “Kids’ Midnight Witch Glow-in-the-Dark Costume” were my choices. The glow-in-the-dark costume will stick out like a sore thumb becoming lighter as the night gets darker.
