Swifties across North America have been ready for it: “The Eras Tour” movie. After concluding the U.S. leg of “The Eras Tour,” spanning 54 nights in 20 cities, the infamous 160 minute-long concert will be available to watch in theaters starting Oct. 13.

Taylor Swift fans, know as Swifties, have been anticipating this announcement for a while. When “The Eras Tour” concert tickets were initially released, there were many complications on the Ticketmaster website that ultimately steered fans to dislike the ticket-buying platform. In turn, many people were left unable to attend the show, with resale ticket pricing above $2,000.

“The Eras Tour” movie will provide an opportunity for people that couldn’t attend the show to get a sense of what the performance would’ve been like.

“I’m happy that people can go see it that didn’t get to see ‘The Eras Tour’,” Avery Hart, State High student and Pittsburgh night 2 attendee, said.

Each night of “The Eras Tour” includes two acoustic, never-before-sung performances, known as surprise songs. This led fans to question if surprise songs would end up being in the movie, and, if so, which ones.

Given that the show was recorded in Los Angeles, during the first three nights at SoFi Stadium, there are six options: “I Can See You,” “Maroon,” “Our Song,” “You Are in Love”, “Death By a Thousand Cuts” and “You’re on Your Own Kid.”

Many speculate that the film will include “Our Song” from her debut album because the concert’s setlist incorporates every “era”, or album, besides Debut. “You’re on Your Own Kid” is also a strong contender because of the line “make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it”, which inspired the tradition of fans trading friendship bracelets at the shows.

“I’m so excited to trade friendship bracelets [at the movie] because I have not had that experience because I never have been to ‘The Eras Tour’, not yet” State High student Gabby Siekman said. Siekman has been a fan of Taylor Swift for a large part of her life, so she was excited when she got tickets for “The Eras Tour” in Canada 2024.

In addition to trading friendship bracelets, Taylor Swift also recommended that movie-goers sing and dance during the show, as stated on her X (Twitter) announcement. The dress code for the movie, also recommended by Swift, will be much like “The Eras Tour.”

“I’m going to wear a little cowgirl jean dress, cowgirl boots, and a hat. I’m going to be Debut.” Siekman said. She is a strong Debut fan and believes the album doesn’t get enough attention, which could be another reason “Our Song” (from Debut) may be featured in the film.

Much like “The Eras Tour”, there will be collectables available at the movie theaters.  Audience members can expect collectable popcorn buckets ($14.99) and soda cups ($11.99) which will have “The Eras Tour” logo printed on them. These may sell out quickly since they are in high demand.

“The Eras Tour” Movie will surely be an enchanting experience for all swifties. With less than a month until the film hits theaters, the anticipation builds and the friendship bracelet making begins.
