Josh Shapiro, Governor of Pennsylvania:

At rally in Greensville, North Carolina, Donald J. Trump alleged that the election would be unfair. He stated, “Are they cheating, Michael? They’re trying but they're not gonna get away with it.”

Shapiro responded to these accusations of election fraud.

“Well, let's be clear, in 2020 we had a free and fair, safe and secure election that Joe Biden won by about 80,000 votes, we are again going to have a free and fair, safe and secure election because our neighbors, Republican and Democratic clerks in counties all across Pennsylvania, especially here in Centre County, are going to do their jobs to make sure that their friends and neighbors votes are casted safely and counted accurately, and it is critically important that we continue that work, by the way, it's also one of the critically important reasons why we need to elect Eugene De Pasquale the attorney general," Shapiro said.

“When I was attorney general, last time in Pennsylvania, Donald Trump took me to court 43 different times to try and undermine the vote here in Pennsylvania. He went on 43 we went 43 and oh, and again, we had a free and fair, safe and secure election. It's critically important that we have an attorney general who's going to uphold the rule of law and protect our voter rights here in Pennsylvania,” he continued.

Swing State Governors Visit State College During the “Blue Wall Bus Tour”

On Oct. 20, five swing state governors visited State College in front of the Beaver Stadium as a stop on the “Driving Forward Blue Wall Bus Tour.” The governors present were Pennsylvania’s own Josh Shapiro, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, and Maine Governor Janet Mills.

At the time of the event, there were about three weeks until Election Day so the swing state governors took action in efforts to cover as much land and voting lines in the final stretch of this election season. These “battleground states” are likely the determiners for the election’s outcome, leaving voters in “Blue Wall” states receiving campaign visits from both sides of the aisle.

Recent campaign visits to Centre County include the Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez -led rally in support of Harris at the State Theatre on Oct. 18 and Senate candidate Bob Casey’s rally at a Centre County farm on Oct. 24.

On the Republican side, former Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy visited State College on Oct. 17 as a part of a tour with Turning Point USA, and the Team Trump Bus Tour stopped by Medlar Field on Oct. 22. Marking the first visit from a presidential nominee this election cycle, former President Trump hosted a rally at the Bryce Jordan Center on Oct. 26.
