On Tuesday, May 28, the Advanced Rock Ensemble class held its last performance of the school year in the LGI auditorium at State College Area High School. The class is a primarily student-led, year-long course where, at the end of each semester, students perform student-selected songs within groups. Directed by Paul Leskowicz, the concert consisted of 20 songs in total, including original pieces from the students like “Stormstown clown” by junior Teddy Schaeffer and “For My Love” by junior Evan Zorn. The performance lasted two and a half hours, with an intermission in between.

“One of the greatest parts about the class is not only just meeting other musicians that do similar things, but it teaches you how to be in a band,” sophomore Declan McGinnis said. “Even though you’re playing with consistently slightly different lineups, it really teaches you the basics of how to rehearse with a group of five people and teaches you to go out and make a band.”
