“Evil Dead Burn” (2026) turns up the heat and offers horror fans an intense, eye-widening look at the furthest points to which the Evil Dead franchise is willing to go.

French director Sébastien Vaniček does not hold back in his Hollywood debut, showcasing a clear creative talent for conjuring mass waves of shock from audiences. It’s made blatantly evident throughout the film that Vaniček understands how to replicate the trademark havoc of the Evil Dead franchise, in some cases bringing the chaos a step above anything fans have seen in earlier installments.

“Evil Dead Burn” is truly one of the most amusing and entertaining horror films I’ve seen in a while. It’s the definition of edge-of-your-seat horror, as the absurd kills and relentless action give you no time to sit back and relax.

“Evil Dead Burn does NOT screw around,” Hunter Bolding of That Hollywood Show said on X. “The most consistent horror series continues with a gross, mean-spirited, insane, and exceptionally satisfying entry.”

The sixth entry in the long-standing franchise persists with the common theme of ridiculously humorous and vile attacks by the Deadites, whose bloodlust frequently shows itself in the utmost creative ways. For example, the weapons featured in “Evil Dead Burn” include, but are not limited to, grass trimmers, fish hooks, fountain pens, steak knives, corkscrews, prosthetic legs, car headrests, forks, kebab skewers, and folding chairs.

Compared to the last installment in the franchise, “Evil Dead Rise” (2023), it’s safe to say that “Evil Dead Burn” is slightly deficient in terms of plot strength and connection to the intellectual property of the Evil Dead franchise. Have no fear though, as “Evil Dead Burn” makes up for those gaps with its incessant entertainment, something the prior release lacked.

“Director Sébastien Vaniček is an absolute ace behind the lens,” Perri Nemiroff of Collider said on X. “[Vaniček] embraces the traditional Evil Dead style and then packs the film to the brim with downright brutal and wildly creative set pieces.”

“Evil Dead Burn” hits theaters on July 10. Grab your popcorn, fill up your drink, and enjoy.
