On Aug. 10, 2023, Taylor Swift  announced the re-recording of her most famous album, “1989”, which so many fans have been anticipating. At the 2016 Grammy awards, 1989 won Album of the Year as well as best Pop vocal album, which started Swift’s bold transition from country music to pop music. This was also the time that Taylor was moving to New York, hence the song “Welcome to New York”, and her fan base was continuing to grow more and more.

On Oct. 27, 2023, Taylor Swift released the long awaited and anticipated 1989 (Taylor’s Version). When this was released fans were ecstatic, and loved the re-recorded songs as well as the brand new vault tracks, which are songs that she didn’t get to put on her album the first time she released it. The “From the Vault Tracks” on this album include “Slut!”, “Now That We Don’t Talk”, “ Say Don’t Go”, “Suburban Legends”, and “Is it Over Now?”.

Taylors vault track “Is it Over Now?” quickly reached the very top being 1st on the Hot 100, and also became a highly trending sound on TikTok.

While the fans were extremely excited for the album’s release, some were disappointed by it, like sophomore Carrie Hoag. “1989 isn’t my favorite album anyway but I was still expecting some more. The songs did sound as mature as I wanted them to, but overall it was pretty good.” Hoag said.

However, other fans loved the album, “I loved the album; ‘1989’ is my favorite album anyway so I was so excited for it to come out, and I was not disappointed, I thought it was so so good,” Cara Zuech said. “And the vault tracks were not what I was expecting but I thought they were so good, I’m listening to them on repeat.”

Most of the “Swifties” seem to love the new album and it is quickly climbing up the charts and everyone is listening to it, as well as junior at State High Savannah Watkins.

“I think it is great. I’m listening to it on repeat and my favorite song on there is ‘Clean’. I love how her mature voice sounds on the album,” Watkins said.

As shown all over the internet the fans were very excited for the album and it turns out that Taylor was quite excited herself.

“To be perfectly honest,” Swift said, “This is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the five Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!” Swift said in an interview with ABC News.

Now that this album has been released, and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) being released earlier in the year, fans are hoping for Reputation (Taylor’s Version) to be released soon. Taylor Swift has two more albums to re-record including “Reputation” and “Taylor Swift” which is her debut album.

The re-release of 1989 has brought along a whirlwind of emotions, as well as nostalgia for the Swifties.
