The back and forth matchup was one to remember, with comebacks from both sides, and ending in a slim margin of victory favoring State College.

This was one of many celebratory events hosted for teachers this week, including a coffee bar and selfie station on Monday, to-go breakfast served by students on Tuesday, and classroom visits by administration on Wednesday.

Brushwood, a captain and vocal leader of the team, always keeps a positive spirit and supports his teammates. “It has been an incredible honor to be a captain for this team. I have been playing this sport my entire life and to see the growth of the game at State High is something really special. It’s hard to think about how soon I’ll have to walk away from this program, but I hope that the impact I and the rest of our senior class has had will continue to show for years to come,” Brushwood said.

The school used two portable metal detectors before borrowing additional detectors from Penn State. On April 21, the school board announced the purchase of additional portable detectors.
