One of the primary reasons for Tussey Mountain’s rise in popularity is the impressive snowfall that State College has been receiving. Sophomore and skier Nick Tranell spoke about his experience with the vast amount of snow.
“Yeah, I think it’s the amount of snow we’ve gotten this year, leading to the popularity. Also, the variety of slopes from black diamonds to the greens,” Tranell said.

Sophomore Devin Rameker, who has been an avid snowboarder for years now, commented on the frequency of his visits to Tussey Mountain.
“I’ve probably been to Tussey this year 15-20 times for about five hours each time I go,” Rameker said.

“Spend[ing] time with your friend and the whole community being there is why I think everyone spends so much time there,” Rameker said.
