I am a senior in my second year of journalism. I play baseball and run track for State High, and I was a Production Associate for the State College Spikes in the summer. I am interested in broadcast journalism and sports writing and my dream job would be a commentator for MLB Network.

Hockenbury specialized in the 400 meter dash on last year’s state championship team, and will look to help lead the boys to another state title this winter. “We have more returning medalists this year than when we won States. We have a lot of potential. We just need to execute that strength at States where it matters most,” Hockenbury said of the team.

Officially signed seniors Jack Hurley and Joe Nastasi, decked out in their future college garb, pose for a photo with State High varsity baseball coach Jeremy Dinsmore. Hurley and Nastasi were joined in signing their National Letter of Intent to play division I college sports next year by Matthew Brownstead and Zachary DeCarmine. “For them to share this early signing period as a coach is an awesome feeling just because you get a chance to see them cherish this moment together,” Dinsmore said.

He finished first place in the Individual District Championship this season. “I remember being frustrated on the first 6 holes because nothing was going my way...but I just kinda relaxed and realized I was five strokes back of the leader and anything could happen, Olsen said.
