The State College Varsity Hockey Team continued their successful season with a victory against Richland on December 21. Richland took the lead early on, after scoring one goal in the first period. In the second period, however, State College leapt ahead with goals scored by Benjamin Williams and Michael Moscone. The game ended with a goal scored by Mark Rinehart III, leaving the score at 3-1. State College is now second in the division, with Altoona holding the first slot. Moscone is the current team leader in goals, with Robert Zimmerman leading in assists. Zimmerman, a freshman, has greatly enjoyed being a member of the team so far. “All the guys have come together to be a family instead of a team, everyone is respectful and it’s cool to be a part of that,” Zimmerman said. With a winning combination of skill and teamwork, the State High Hockey Team is guaranteed success this season. The next game is away against Somerset on January 11.
