Hitting the Season off Right

The boy’s volleyball season is setting in place. The team won their 8th game against Carlisle on April 19th. They won three sets to one. Their current record is 4-4 making them ranked 3rd Mid-Penn Commonwealth League. Carlisle is currently ranked 5th in the Mid-Penn Commonwealth League.There are seven teams in the Mid-Penn Commonwealth League.

In the beginning of the week the boys also won their game against the team ranked second in Mid-Penn Commonwealth League, Central Dauphin. They won three sets to one.

Quinn Williams, a junior, said “We have a[n] experienced team, where a lot of guys have been playing for a while. We are a scrappy team. We have made great improvements in the past couple years.” Williams is a second team Mid-Penn Commonwealth all-star.

When asked what the team can work on, Williams said, ”We need to work on starting off well in games, lots of games we don’t have a very good first couple points which puts us behind in the second half.”

Williams said their goal this year is to at least win districts.

Patrick Mcnutt, a senior, said “I am looking forward to districts”. When asked what the team did well and what the team needs to work on, Mcnutt said that they have scored many points this year but still need to win more.

David Paroda, a senior, said “We have been doing well this year but we still have work to do.” Paroda also said “were excited for the future of state high boys volleyball, big things are coming.”

The boys volleyball team has had a successful start to the year. Their next home game is May 4th against Maplewood.
